When mothers deliver babies, they are small and precious, but as the day passes, they grow bigger and bigger in size. But a newborn from Australia is now making buzz as he tipped the scales into a record-baking territory.
Midwives of Sunshine Hospital were surprised after delivering Maoama Ala. The baby weighs 6.3 kilograms or 13 pounds — the heaviest one ever born at the hospital.
New mom Teu was delighted that her newborn is doing well. Since the newborn has no chance of fitting into the baby clothes the family bought for him, they had to rush out to buy larger ones. Her baby boy is so big that he is already wearing clothes fitting a six-months-old from the day he was given light in the world.
Double zero, triple zero, doesn’t fit on him. He’s wearing three to six-month-old clothes.
Teu revealed that she knew she will be having a big baby, but she did not expect that he is going to be this big.
The main thing is not his size, but he was coming out healthy and happy.
The Heaviest One
Maoama was born a week earlier than expected. He had to be delivered via C-section due to his incredible size. Although obstetricians had been monitoring the pregnancy closely, they were also surprised to see the newborn’s size.
It’s off the charts. The last big baby we had here was 6.23 kilos back in 2013.
The baby boy is the family’s fourth child and he is the heaviest one yet. The new mom and her partner are already parents to a six-year-old and nine-year-old twin boys.
Teu revealed that she wants to have more children and is keeping her fingers crossed to get a baby girl next time. Once he grows up, baby Maoama will surely reach greater heights too!
